Digital Art Course
Alongside academic conference engagements and scholarly publications, in the spring of 2025, capitArtX launched a pilot online media lab digital art course for Istinye University Istanbul, exploring digital art before and after the internet. The course focused particularly on the concept of AI art and the impacts of AI on artistic creation, appreciation, and curatorship. The course was led online by Dr Isil Ezgi Celik and Esra Ozan with participation of 25+ students and with an in-person talk delivered by Dr Irem Coban at Istinye University.
This semester-long course in Digital Art was designed and facilitated by capitArtX media lab questioning the convergence of digital technologies, aesthetics, and critical theory. Functioning as a research and education strand, the course served as a testing ground for new methodologies in creative education and collaborative media practice.
